I use Slackware. I love the simplicity, conservatism with changing the system, long-term security updates, and with a combination of Slackbuilds, nix, flathub, and debootstrap, you still have access to everything that's been packaged for GNU/Linux. Everything I hoped to get out of Debian, I am getting from Slackware.

Nice, that sounds good mate.

I've never tried Slackware properly, but it sounds like a one of the best and most solid linux distros out there!

AncientWisdom uses it too...

In my opinion it is. I was considering switching to FreeBSD, but I wasn't enthusiastic about running GNU/Linux applications through a compatibility layer or in a virtual machine. Slackware is the GNU/Linux distro that comes the closest to the Unix philosophy or a BSD experience, that's why I picked it.

I actually meet a surprising amount of Slackware users on IRC.
